Short, because there is not much to tell you. This website collects nothing about you. If you reserve a place, Stripe collects a few things on our behalf, and this page says exactly what they are.
Two people in Vancouver, British Columbia, building CareFlock. We do not put our names on the site, which we know is unusual when we are asking for a card. There is a real email address at the bottom of this page and a person reads it.
Nothing. There is no analytics, no tracking pixel, no advertising tag, and no cookie set by us. The page has no JavaScript at all. Nothing about your visit is stored by us or sent to us.
Two third parties do see something, simply because the page loads:
The reserve button sends you to Stripe, our payment processor. You are on Stripe's page, not ours, from that point on. Stripe collects:
We never see or store your card number. It goes to Stripe and stays there. We see your email address, your name and your billing address.
We use those three things for exactly three purposes. To refund your C$10 within seven days. To email you about the beta, because knowing whether you are in Greater Vancouver is the difference between being able to include you and not. And to reply if you write to us.
Stripe handles your information under its own privacy policy, which you can read at stripe.com/privacy.
CareFlock is a concept in development. No device exists, nothing is monitoring anyone, and there is no sensing data of any kind. When there is a product, it will handle personal information about a person in their own home, and that will need its own policy written before a single device is installed. This page does not attempt to cover it.
Stripe keeps its payment records for as long as Canadian financial rules require, which is beyond our control. What we hold ourselves is the email correspondence. If the beta does not go ahead, or you tell us you are not interested, we delete it.
Under Canadian privacy law, PIPEDA federally and the Personal Information Protection Act in British Columbia, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email us and we will do it. We are not going to make you fill in a form.
If we handle it badly, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca, or to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at oipc.bc.ca.
If this policy changes we will change the date at the top. If it changes in a way that affects anyone who has already given us their details, we will email them rather than quietly editing the page.
Write to careflock.app@gmail.com. A person answers it.
